What are ODU fans doing to get ready for the debut football game?
Ballard Stadium had AC/DC cranking this morning as workers scurried to complete last-minute preparations for today’s Old Dominion Monarchs football rebirth. The university had parking lot attendants stationed at every lot, turning away early-birders seeking a prime tailgating spot. Cars left overnight were towed to outlying lots, but owners were not assessed a fee or fine. One attendant said some people tried to secure a key parking spot last night, but arrived this morning dismayed that their cars were gone. The tailgating parking lots open at 2 p.m. Parking garages, however, are open now. There was a definite buzz on and around campus as workers and fans readied for the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. Cornelia Magee has, perhaps, the perfect off-campus location for the game. From her driveway at the end of Cedar Lane, she has a clear view of the stands and the north end field goal posts. She could watch the kickoff from there, but the 1985 ODU grad has secured season tickets
