What are power walls?
Power walls are tobacco products displayed behind the service counter in retail stores. They usually have huge rows of cigarette packages reaching almost to the ceiling. Power walls incorporate the retail businesses’ message of “stack it high and watch it fly”. Power walls place tobacco beside other products also send a message to children and youth that tobacco is as harmless and socially acceptable as candy. Power walls normalize tobacco. Please note that in order to simplify this section we are using “power wall” for all point of sale promotion, unless specified differently.
