“hazing” is different than random abuse or a hate crime. Hazing is a situation that the person usually puts themselves in in order to join or be accepted by a group. Sometimes hazing gets out of hand because of group mentality and a person is hurt as a result.

Hazing happens when you join a frat group for instance. The leaders will put the new members through a thing called hazing where they perform acts such as waking up the new members in the middle of the night and making them take off their clothes, then pouring honey on them, and to top it off throwing feathers on them. Then the grand finally is where you lock them in the gym over night and spread the news and have everyone report to the gym to see. Its an act to embarass someone. It is also illegal in many colleges and highschools.
