I agree with answerer. I have an interesting addition from our experience with our own kids, and they absolutely loved this. We used to have “potty races”. We would take the kids to rooms as far from the bathroom as we could get them and then have them pretend they had to go really bad. Then we would see how fast, and safely, they could get to the potty. We would have them go through the entire act of jumping up and down like they were trying not to wet their pants, then race (safely) to the potty. We were shocked at how many times we did this, and when they got there, they had to go for real! Our oldest was very difficult until we started doing this. It’s a wonderful game, and you don’t have to plan it always. After a few hours of practice, over a week or so, we started “surprised” drills. We may be watching TV or just relaxing and reading, and suddenly I would holler, “Potty drill!!!”. They would jump up, laughing and race to the bathroom, and often would go right then. Try it. It’s
