What are some methods of removing wallpaper?
Test your wallpaper before starting to see just how easy (or difficult) it will be to remove. You have 3 options to choose from: 1) You can soak the walls by scouring them with a wet sponge or spraying them with a spritzer. Give the water a short while to soak in, then carefully remove the paper with a scraper. 2) You can rent a steamer. This can, however, be difficult to use in awkward places, and you must be careful not to burn yourself. 3) You can purchase a tinted wallpaper-removing gel that is applied with a special type of roller. After the gel has had a half hour to soak in, the wallpaper peels off very easily. Once all your wallpaper is removed, refill any holes or scrape marks with filler, and then prime the walls before you begin painting.
