What are some successful, natural ways to induce labour?
“Induce” and “natural” are a contradiction in terms. If you are attempting to force the body to do something it wasn’t ready to do on it’s own, it is far from natural. And no, there are no scientifically proven safe and effective methods to self-induce labor, otherwise docs would be using them in the hospital instead of pitocin. Anyone who tries to say, “I did this and it worked for me!” doesn’t know for certain if labor would have begun without doing whatever they did. If you are contemplating self-induction, please call and confer with your OB / midwife. Something this important I think they would want to know about. You take your doc’s advice for 9 long months to keep your pregnancy healthy, I think that self-induction is one of those things you should listen to their advice on as well. Good luck, baby will come when its ready and not a moment sooner.
