What are some technological innovations of the Airbus A380?
1) “No fuel stops: The A380 Airbus can fly between 14,200 and 16,200 kilometres without refuelling, at a maximum cruising speed of 1,080 kilometres per hour. Environmentally friendly: The A380 Airbus will be quieter and cause less pollution than the Boeing 747, using 13% less fuel (less than three litres of fuel per passenger per 100 kilometres) and costing between 15 and 20% less per kilometre. Giant of the air: With its length of 73 metres, a wingspan of 79.80 metres, a height of 24.10 metres (as tall as a nine-storey building), a fuselage 7.10 metres in diameter, two decks, a weight of 560 tonnes and 22 wheels, it can carry between 555 and 800 passengers (compared with 416 for the biggest Boeing 747) or 150 tonnes of cargo… Innovative materials: The central section is made of carbon fibre (a world first), the cabin floor of composite materials and the upper part of the fuselage of “glare” a glass fibre and aluminium alloy.” Source and further information: http://www.diplomatie.gou
