What are some types of adhesive failures and defects?
Delamination, voiding, cracking, and resin separation are examples of adhesive failures and defects. Delamination is the rupture of a bond between an adhesive and an adherend. Voiding is a cavity or air pocket in the adhesive bondline, and cracking is fractures in the cured adhesive. Resin separation is a pool of resin separated from the adhesive system during the cure profile found in the cured adhesive.
