What are supervised visits and how do they work?
Supervised visits are visits between children and their non-custodial parents that occur in the presence of a neutral adult who will ensure that the children remain safe throughout the visit. The supervising adult can help the visiting parent by suggesting appropriate activities for the visit. The supervising adult will intervene in the visit to protect the emotional or physical safety of the children as well as the custodial parent. Visits will be structured so that parents do not come into contact with each other before, during, or after the visit. How can the Parent/Child Access Program help you? The Parent/Child Access Program can help parents who are separated, divorced, divorcing, or are involved in custody or visitation disputes when: * Complying with court-ordered visitation puts you at risk for violence or harassment * You are concerned about your child’s safety during visits with the other parent * You want to visit with your child without violating a Relief from Abuse Order.
