What are the benefits of radiotherapy?
Radiotherapy if given at a very early stage of cancer can kill the cancerous cells and the patient may not need any surgery if the treatment is successful. The radiations can penetrate deep into the tissues and can help to stop the growth of the deep seated tumors that are not accessible for surgery. Radiotherapy can also be given during surgery to shrink the tumors or combined with chemotherapy to make the treatment more effective. Pain associated with the cancer can be treated with radiotherapy.
