What are the challenges of Nanotechnology?

Odds are nanotechnology in a particular application will be no exception to this rule. There are clearly myriad technical challenges to be overcome when implementing a solution involving nanotechnology, but perhaps even more daunting are the business challenges. Making money in nanotechnology is proving difficult, and many optimistic business plans have lead to no profits or high losses for investors. While nanotechnology has not generated the enormous bubble of the dot coms, there is clearly potential for “irrational exuberance”.
