For a leave of absence: three months (excluding July and August) prior to the date the leave is to begin, or by mutual consent. For application for a deferred salary (X over Y) leave: On or before April 1st. Teachers now have more options for deferred leaves; a leave for a full year, a leave from July 1st to December 31st, or a leave from January 1st to June 30th.
