What are the differences between a workstation and keyboard controller?
A keyboard controller is a keyboard that has no internal sounds but acts as a controller for a sound module, sampler or outboard sequencer. Most controllers also have pitch bend and modulation wheels and layering capabilities. A workstation refers to a keyboard that either has a sequencer, sampler or both on board. These units have built in sounds and some have built in drum and song patterns.
