What are the differences between inputs: HDMI™ input, Component, and Composite?
HDMI™ input provides the highest quality and convenience in an uncompressed digital connection, combining audio and video in a single cable. Component (Red/Green/Blue cables or Y/Pb/Pr) provides a very high quality video connection capable of delivering HD, but is bulkier than HDMI™ input and requires a separate audio connection. Composite (single yellow-tipped cable) – simple and inexpensive, but not capable of delivering HD quality.
