The 2 Series is the least expensive line of EQ that dbx currently manufactures. Its a great introductory EQ. It incorporates 12dB of max range and a switchable 50 Hz/12dB per octave high pass filter. It also utilizes 20mm sliders. The 12 Series is the next step up. It adds: 1. A switchable 40 Hz/18 dB per octave high pass filter (instead of a 50 Hz/12 dB). 2. 45mm sliders for finer control. 3. 15 dB max range (instead of 12 dB). 4. Barrier Strip I/O with ground lift capabilities. 5. Recessed buttons to help prevent accidental switching. 6. A relay on the power supply (helps prevent power up spikes). 7. A hardwire bypass. The Next step up from the 12 Series is the 20 Series. The 20 Series adds: 1. A more quiet design, using Type III Noise reduction, which increases the signal to noise ratio up to 20 dB. 2. Non conductive sliders for noiseless operation. 3. A PeakPlus limiter to help protect speakers from program transients. 4. Soft touch slider knobs. The iEQ Series is the flagship dbx
