What are the differences between the electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science programs at CU-Boulder?
• Our electrical engineering program provides a foundation in the traditional areas of electrical engineering in the first three years of the program. In the final year, you have the opportunity to specialize in one or two areas of interest, or you may explore other areas in EE. • Our computer engineering degree is doubly accredited as both an electrical engineering degree and a computer engineering degree. After covering the same basic electrical engineering courses, students take two upper-level computer science courses plus two senior-level computer engineering courses. • The B.S. degree in computer science is offered by the Computer Science Department and is primarily a software curriculum. Computer science students are required to take one ECEN course, ECEN 2120, Computers as Components. Two more are optional: ECEN 3100, Digital Logic; and ECEN 4593, Computer Organization.
