• Better Libraries for Palo Alto is a political campaign committee. It was created to educate and inform Palo Alto voters about the need for better libraries in our community. The campaign committee’s goal is to pass Measure N on November 4, 2008. • The Friends of the Palo Alto Library was founded in 1938 and its mission is to support Palo Alto’s libraries and its users. FoPAL runs successful book sales every month and uses those funds to pay for popular programs at the library such as the children’s summer reading program and the special guests who speak at the library, as well as collections. www.friendspaloaltolib.org • The Palo Alto Library Foundation was formed in 2001 and its mission is to spearhead fund-raising campaigns to support a modern dynamic library system that serves the needs of everyone in our city.
