What are the Diploma in Economics and the Diploma in Social Sciences?
The Diploma in Economics and the Diploma in Social Sciences are programmes of the University of London that award a stand alone qualification and are equivalent to the first year of the degree. Institutions are awarded the Permission to Teach status by the University of London and the concerned Lead College. This applies only to the Diploma in Economics and the Diploma in Social Sciences. The Diploma programmes have been specifically designed by the London School of Economics and Political Science for students who cannot, do not or do not wish to gain direct entry into the University of London.
