Denominator File The Denominator File contains basic demographic, enrollment and eligibility information about each Medicare-enrolled beneficiary during a calendar year. Standard Analytic Files (SAFs): Part A & Part B Claims data The Standard Analytical Files (SAFs) are generated by processing the National Claims History (NCH) file’s raw claims through final action algorithms that match the original claim with adjusted claims to resolve any adjustments. SAFs are available for each institutional claim type (inpatient, outpatient, SNF, hospice, or HHA) and for Non-institutional files (Carrier, DME) beginning with 1991.
