What are the guidelines for student taking trips during testing?
In such situations, the school should make every effort to have the student returning before the assessment window is closed, and have the student take the test in a makeup session. However, effective communications with parents and the school community should emphasize the importance of avoiding such trips during the assessment window if at all possible. If the student were to miss the entire assessment window and if the student did not have a legitimate exemption (i.e. medical, ESL, etc.), then the school would take a zero on that student.
