The hard disk size depends upon how much storage you want to broker. The SRB software system itself requires only about 200 MBytes of storage. For MCAT-enabled servers, the DBMS will require additional space; on Linux, for example, the SRB with Postgres and ODBC take about 700 MB. We normally recommend 1 to 6 TBytes, depending on the usage. We have specs for a system called the SRB Brick which costs around $15K for 6 TBytes (January, 2005). As for CPU speeds, any Linux system with more than 1.5 GHz should be fine. Memory of 1/2 GB or 1 GB will be sufficient.
