What are the interactive use of speaking, listening, reading to promote literacy development in pupils?
Grammar is very important, and some academics are saying otherwise. Spelling is also very important, especially between American English, and our own. American English has altered English quite substantially to the point of, that some words look decimated. Good spelling results from learning words by the syllables, which has made myself a decent speller. Good pronunciation helps in learning to spell correctly. Questioner is right about the interaction between pupils, listening and reading extensively. And grammar makes the comprehension clearer and more understandable. I personally think we should thank the Americans for changing how the words are spelt. Because it makes us question the spelling even more.
