What are the laws relating to underage drinking?
Not a smart idea for teens to be drinking alcohol anytime. When it’s your party, then you (and the adults there) are responsible. In Australia (as you know) legal drinking age in all states is 18. A minor must not have, be in possession of or consume alcohol. Any adult who provides them with alcohol is guilty of an the offence of “supply to a minor” usually results in a fine of $5500. Worst case scenario – all alcohol can be confiscated and your party closed down. Ensure you have plenty of non-alcoholic drinks for those under 18 and make sure nobody supplies them with alcohol.
