The patched version of Chessmaster 8000 is very similar to 9000 but there are some differences. Chessmaster 10,000 appears to be exactly the same (in terms of Winboard features) as Chessmaster 9000 though. The main differences (besides the engine versions of 3.12d vers 3.23d) are as follows • Chessmaster 9000 allows imported and created personalities (including imported Winboard engines) to be rated (you can change the rating or play rated games, but the rating will not be updated automatically), Chessmaster 8000 does not. • Chessmaster 9000 also supports the use of a secondary time control for time controls in tournament mode. This secondary time control is always in minutes. So for example you can play a time control like 40 moves in 40 minutes followed by 25 minutes sudden death.This is done using the extended level command. • Chessmaster 9000 but not 8000 now supports the use of Endgame tablebases, so when importing a Winboard engine, you can choose to allow the Winboard engine to
