What are the main differences between the Commission proposal and the approved EFF?
Discussions with Member States and stakeholders on the Commission proposal resulted in a number of changes for the sake of simplification or clarification and with a view to introducing new fields of support. Nevertheless the final text of the EFF, agreed by the Council, preserves the essential elements of the Commission proposals and remains in line with the principles and objectives of the CFP.Aid for the replacement of vessels’ engines, which was not foreseen in the initial Commission proposal, is included with however a number of conditions ensuring that vessels’ capacity will be decreased.
