What are the minimum and maximum lengths for practicum rotations (III.D.2)?
A. The new Program Requirements focus on competency-based education and do not prescribe rotation lengths, with the exception of the one-month governmental public health agency rotation for residents in Public Health/General Preventive Medicine. Along with other components of the residency curriculum, the practicum rotations should be indexed to demonstrate what competencies each addresses and how the competencies will be addressed (III.B.) The program director and faculty should determine how long each rotation should be in order to accomplish these goals.
