What are the odds of lightning striking twice in the same spot?
I would say its 1:1! Lightning almost always strikes twice or more in the same spot! In fact, what appears to us as being as single flash of lightning, is in fact several very rapid strokes between the cloud and the ground. There is roughly 50 milliseconds between each stroke, so several strokes can occur within a few tenths of a second! You may not see it, but it happens! So the next time someone says, “The chances of you getting skin cancer from sitting nekid’ in that tannin’ bed er like the chances of lightning striking twice in the same spot!”…You should probably stay out of the tanning bed, and KEEP YOUR CLOTHES ON!
