A2. At this time, the Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has focused its efforts on encouraging voluntary compliance rather than on enforcement. However, Labor Code section 129.5 (a) (3) authorizes the Administrative Director to impose penalties for a failure to comply with any DWC rule or regulation. If necessary, the Division may use these enforcement powers in the future to further encourage compliance with EDI reporting requirements.
