What are the pluses and minuses of rotary shampooing?
Rotary shampooing is a very aggressive cleaning technique. The advantage of this technique is its effectiveness – rotary shampooing removes many tough soils that other techniques cannot touch. There are several disadvantages to this technique: it leaves carpets very wet, it can fray carpet fibers and it does not flush soil out of the carpet (which is why it is smart to follow rotary shampooing with an extraction rinse.) Butcher’s recommends rotary shampooing for special situations only.
