Both treatments are designed to make it less likely that you will need glasses for intermediate and near tasks. After the surgery it is still possible that you will need glasses for either distance or near. We cannot promise the study will help you but the information we get might help improve the treatment of people having cataract surgery.

During the collection of blood it is possible that you may feel faint or have some slight bruising. However, only trained and experienced nurses will conduct the interviews and they will know what to do in the rare event that this happens.
