What are the requirements for the minor?
The Minor requires a minimum of 18 upper division quarter units with a grade of C, P or better. Students can take 5 units Pass/No Pass. Five units can be taken for Independent Study (Education 199 or Education 199R). Because the number of units for courses are subject to change and some courses have variable units, the number of units applied to the minor will be the number of units appearing for a course on a student’s transcript. Six upper division quarter units can be transferred from another college or university besides UCSB if the units are approved by the course instructor and faculty advisor in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education. There is no limit on how many units can be applied from courses at UCSB, if approved. Three Core Education courses including one practicum are required. The remaining units for the Minor can be selected from the course Electives.
Consult the online catalog under Economics. The process for declaring a minor is basically the same as for declaring a major. But note that where the major adviser must sign add/delete frm and the like, the minor does not have to do that. You should, therefore, make sure that you let your minor adviser know of any changes to your coursework that may affect your minor.
