What are the responsibilities of a BGC scorekeeper?
A scorekeeper has a number of different responsibilities during a round. The scorekeepers are responsible for keeping an accurate tally of each participants score in the group. They help in ensuring a good pace of play by encouraging the players to keep moving. Scorekeepers will also make sure the players are safe during the round. As everyone knows, it gets very hot in Arizona during the summer months and kids tend to dehydrate quicker than adults. We ask that the scorekeepers remind the players to keep drinking water throughout the round. One of the responsibilities that the scorekeepers are not going to have is that of a rules official. We ask that scorekeepers do not get involved in making any rulings on the golf course. If a situation presents itself regarding the rules of golf, please try to find a JGAA official or volunteer as soon as possible.
