Cosigner do not have to appear in court with the arrested person. The cosigner needs to assist the bondsman in maintaining contact with the arrested person, and serves as a secondary point of contact between the bondsman and the arrested person. If the bond is at risk of revocation or forfeiture, the cosigner must assist the bondsman in correcting the situation, or the cosigner will be at risk of bearing the financial loss of the total bond amount.
