What Are the Treatments for Thrombotic Stroke?
Thrombotic stroke is the term used for a stroke caused by a blood clot lodged in an artery supplying the brain. The loss of blood supply caused by such a clot deprives the brain of essential oxygen and nutrients, and if blood flow is not restored in a matter of minutes, portions of the brain begin to die. Treatments for this medical emergency include medication and rehabilitative therapy.
