Visible light – What humans use to see Radio Waves – exactly what they sound like, used to transmit signals between radios Microwaves – These type of waves are used in microwaves (hence the name) and are used to heat objects. Infrared – Often used by military in night vision due to the ability for special cameras to be able to see while humans cannot. Ultraviolet – Sometimes used to radiate indoor plants as a substitute for sunlight. X-rays – used in Xray machines to take cross sectional pictures of the body. Gamma rays – Used in radiation therapy (I think) because of the destructive power of the rays on living tissue. An example would be killing cancer cells.
