What are those things that are mandatory for PCTs to have completed by 31 March, with regards to the PCT itself and independent contractors?
PCTs must complete their internal IG assessment using the IG toolkit by 31 March 2009. As regards General Practices, the NHS CFH IG Statement of Compliance team were in place until 31 October 2008 to support GPs and PCTs through the IGSoC process. After that time PCTs are required to work with Practices in a supportive and facilitative way with regard to IGSoC and Information Governance assurance in the round. Practices should be encouraged to take up the offer of support from the central team and in any event, be encouraged to submit their IG toolkit assessment by 31 March 2009 to enable the Digital Information Policy team to release the next version of the IG toolkit.
