What are VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)?
A.VOC’s are Organic Compounds that contain the element carbon. VOC’s evaporate easily at room temperature and often have a sharp smell. Common sources which may emit VOC’s into indoor air include housekeeping and maintenance products, office equipment, adhesives, carpeting, upholstery, paints and solvents. In sufficient quantities, VOC’s can cause eye, nose, and throat irritations, headaches, dizziness, visual disorders and memory impairment. Some VOC’s can cause cancer in certain situations, especially when they are concentrated indoors.
