What benefits will accrue to college newspapers as a result of new ownership?
mtvU is committed to building out the College Publisher platform and offering affiliates a whole suite of new features, including multimedia, expanded community functionality, and universal calendars, just to name a few. These and other enhancements will increase user engagement with campus newspaper sites and provide additional distribution outlets for student-produced work, while in no way impacting the editorial independence of each online publication. There will also be new and expanded revenue sharing opportunities, as well as access to mtvU’s stable of more than 120 national advertisers, who are keen to reach college students through the print and online versions of student newspapers.
