The counsellor is there to work with you and to understand the strengths that you have as an individual. He or she can assist you in using those strengths and in accessing additional resources to work towards a solution to the life problem that brings you to counselling. The EFAP is short-term counselling. This means that in partnership with your counsellor, you will identify goals that are specific and relevant to your needs. These goals will assist you and your counsellor to develop a treatment plan which will guide counselling and help you to work towards a solution to the life problem that you are seeking assistance with. Counselling is completed when your goal is reached.
