What can NetVision NPM manage right out of the box?
The basic NetVision NPM application includes configuration and report files for managing any common router or switch interface. Also included are utilities to automatically download from these devices configuration information required by NetVision NPM to monitor them. Once you have setup all the devices you want to monitor, there is another utility to index these configuration files to allow their reports to be easily accessed from a central index page. Finally, NetVision NPM includes various Top N and Bottom N reports that summarize the most active devices on the network to allow a network administrator to quickly focus in on potential problem areas. Out of the box, NetVision NPM can report on an interface’s in and out utilization, packet rates, packet errors, discarded packets, and output queue length.
