What can one expect to pay for an average wedding?
It depends of what part of the country you live in, if you are serving a meal, and if you are serving alcohol. We gave our daughter a beautiful wedding and reception under $10,000. The church, which you usually pay for, was already beautiful so we had one flower centerpiece and candles up the aisle – no ribbons, no aisle runner. Our daughter made all the bouquets and boutonnieres. We purchased supplies when on sale. We used the church parish hall for a buffet dinner (this is a huge savings over renting a hall). It, too, was already beautiful so there was one large flower centerpiece on the buffet table. We used the church linens and paid to have them cleaned. We also used their china, silver, glassware, etc. We paid the janitors to set up and clean up. The room came with women to help the day of the wedding. We had no alcohol, obviously. For the toast we used sparkling white grape juice served in clear plastic wine glasses with a bow tied on them. Since we needed so much grape juice, t
