What caused the boom in celebrity news over the past 10 years?
I wondered this quite angrily several years ago. Since then, I have calmed down to see that this will be the case for a while now. People are quite selfish and trifling today. This is the Age of Aquarius and must be expected. Also, a theory my mother had, is that people are so stressed these days, they don’t want to come home to television, radio, books, and magazine articles about substantive information. It is better and easier to read trash (starlets latest exploits) or fun stuff (grown people reading Harry Potter, which I love too). Well, I think it is a bit of both. People are trifling today and legitimately stressed. Being interested in Lindsay Lohan’s latest hair color satisfies their needs.
