What causes Help 24 Messages?
Help 24 error messages are caused by the treadmill speed signal varying too much. Since the treadmill is not capable of changing belt speed due of the real world mechanics, electrical speed signals which vary greatly indicate an erroneous condition which may indicate the true speed of the treadmill cannot be measured. As a result, the treadmill shuts down in a fail-safe Help 24 condition. Before disassembling the treadmill or replacing any parts try to duplicate the problem. Also look for obviously loose or broken components. To diagnose this situation, it is very important to start at the source of the Belt RPM speed signal, the Speed Encoder on the end of the DC Motor. Special Note: The Speed Encoder could also have dirt partially blocking the light beam. While the optical sensor could be cleaned, it is recommended that a new Speed Encoder be installed if there is any doubt as to the condition of the existing Speed Encoder. A dirty, damaged, or defective Speed Encoder could also be t
