What college expenses will be paid by a Rockford Promise grant?
A Rockford Promise grant will pay for tuition and mandatory fees for post-secondary education that will result in a specialized certification or associates degree from Rock Valley Community College. The Rockford Promise grant is a last-dollar grant. That is, the student must apply for federal financial aid and at least two other scholarships first. The Rockford Promise grant will provide for the difference between the cost of tuition and mandatory fees and other financial aid according to a prescribed percentage based on the number of years of attendance at a Rockford Public School District #205 school.
