What comes after a trillion is actually 1,000,000,000,001 but I assume you mean what is the next “step up” in terms of the next terminology, so then it’s a quadrillion, which is a thousand billion which is written like this: 1,000,000,000,000,000. Other contributors are correct if you mean what comes immediately after a trillion – and that is a trillion and one! For a leap, such as from units, tens, hundreds, thousands, etc., other contributors mention quadrillion, etc. as one particular stage. That’s O.K., I think. You can always add whatever you wish to ‘trillion’ e.g. two trillion, three trillion … 99 trillion. When we go further than this, we are in the realms of speculation, unless you wish to use ‘trillion’ as a base and then add anything before it e.g. 500 trillion or a trillion trillion. If you mean is there a much higher number, perhaps reflecting infinity, this question was also raised years ago by the then five year old daughter of the late scientist, Dr Carl Sagan (of ‘Contact’ fame).
