Rule .0108 describes approval of activities and providers of continuing competence activities for North Carolina PT licensees. If a course or continuing competence activity has been approved by another state PT licensure Board, FSBPT or Chapter or Section of APTA the course is considered approved in NC; however, licensees should be aware that the points earned and the category in which a course or activity counts toward the continuing competence requirement may vary from state to state. Many state PT licensure Boards require some form of continuing competence education for license renewal. In some states there is only one category of required activities. In other states, definitions of what are considered “online” vs. “live” activities are differentiated.
