What do bandwidth and disk space mean?
Bandwidth (or monthly transfer) is a metric measuring the usage level of your website. It is calculated on a monthly basis, in Mega-bytes (Mb). Every time someone downloads a 1 Mb file, it consumes 1 Mb of bandwidth. If you are given 1000 Mb of bandwidth per month, it means a 1 Mb file will be downloaded 1000 times before your quota is exceeded. When calculating bandwidth usage, everything being uploaded, downloaded and emailed is taken into consideration. Disk space, on the other hand, represents the amount of data currently stored on our servers (also usually calculated in Mb). When you double your bandwidth, you’re allowing your visitors to download twice as much content from your website each month, and by doubling your disk space you become entitled to store twice as much content on your web site.
