What do I do when I have bought a car that has Personalised Plates?
If you wish to keep those plates the previous owner will give you a signed Application to Transfer Personalised Plates that authorises you to become the new owner. You will need take this form to your nearest Service Tasmania shop. You will also need to transfer the registration of the vehicle to your name this must be done at the same time you transfer the plates. If you do not wish to keep the Personalised Plates please return them to a Service Tasmania shop where you can purchase the standard issue registration plates to place on your vehicle.
