Don’t visit, call. She needs time to heal mentally. Ask her if she would mind if you stopped in to sit with her for a little while. The whole flowers, teddy bear, box of chocolate thing is very cliche (a decent idea, though). You could be a little more unique and try bringing her favorite outside, home-made food (pizza, spaghetti, etc.) I’m sure she’s sick of the hospital food. Also, this may sound weird, but a coloring book with crayons is great for suicidal patients. They seem to love bringing out their inner-childhood in the time of mental healing. I wish you all the luck in an idea, and your friend a healthy and stable healing process.
