What do i need to be a fireman?
You must be certified to at least Firefighter 1 level, which is about 600 hrs of training. Many services want you to have Firefighter 2 and first responder (medical) certification. There are many colleges that offer such training for either a certificate or an AS degree. I would recommend getting the degree. Some colleges even offer a four-year degree in Fire Science or related fields. To enter the firefighting class, you will need to be at least 18 yrs (maybe 21, depending on your state); have your high school diploma; be able to complete the physical tests; have a clean criminal record; and, have (corrected) 20/20 vision.
